This is my answer for the Question s

    1-
In the seventh chapter "the long rain", the protagonist knows a huge development.
It is a fundamental inner change that makes from Annie a new person.
As the whether change, and bring a sudden very long rain , Annie feel a big transition in her self . She is not sad , she feel strange , but very powerful and feel an extreme authority , even more she can face her mother with more self-confidence;"I now towered over her"(over her mother).
As if she she is reborn in a new life or 'restored' and get a healthy self.
She also has a new view toward her nearly past days ; a refusal view that describe her rejection of all the chains of her mother . Now she grows up and almost reach her self-fulfilment , and nearly "made her presence" and give her voice loudly; "how I loved the sound of the words as they rolled off my tongue" .

    2-

    * The 'Rain' plays an important segnificant role in this chapter.
A long rain simulate Annie's illness , as if the nature weap for sharing Annie her illness, so the rain here translate her feelings of pain as"the atmosphere feel as sick as she felt" .
Water also can play a role of purifier; after stopping the rain , Annie feels healthy as if she is reborn again, and clean , getting out all her 'dury' and 'discusting' past, restored and puted in new healthy life.

    * The 'dream' again plays a segnificant role . Annie's dreams in this chapter is in an opened, large space, in the side of the sea; which symbolise her inner wish to seek freedom and self-independence.
Annie finds in her dreams a refuge , an escape from her reality and a chance to live in her own life.
The dream can also translate Annie's disturb and ambivalant relationship with her mother.
