When many people hear the word tragedy ,thy know that it reffers to the Greek theater. It's a form of art based on human suffering. This play is about a yong king who is seeking to know the reality and the truth. But unfortunatly ens up finding the truth about himself....

Oedipus The King

This story takes place years befor the play. Oedipus is the son of King Laius and Queen Jocasta. They were so happy because he was the first and the only son. But they hrared from an oracle that the King would be killed by his son and that his son would marry his own mother. With a shokand feeling of pain and hurt they decided to kill him and they ordered a servant to do so. Instead the servant leaved the baby's fate to God in the field. a shepherd took him and named him Oedipus, then, the shepherd gave him to another shepherd from a distant land called corinth. he was raised there by King polybos and Queen Merope. One day when he was a grown prience, he heard by a chance a rumor that he is not the biological son of Polybos. So when he asked Delphi the oracle the other didn't tell him whom his parents are really. Instead, he told him about what he was destined to do. In a disperation, he leaved Corinth and decided not to return. One day of traveling he met King Laiuson the road. Both of them were stubborn, each of them wanted to pass the path first. Without knowing his father he killed him because of his pride and arrogant. later on, and in able to inter Thebes he must solve the riddle of Sphinx, which was standing outside the gate eating every one who failed to solve the riddle. And so his reward was to marry the Queen and become the King.
